Covering Letter
Dear sir/madam,
I would like to apply for the junior character artist role you advertised on your website. I am also enclosing my CV and a link to a website with my portfolio as requested.
I am currently in the final year of my animation degree, in which I have specialised in CGI. I have been passionate about art from childhood and since moving to the UK to further study in this field I've become infatuated with 3D art.
My main focus is photorealistic humanoid characters, I am interested in the opportunity to work at Ubisoft as their work involves this type of character in a variety of different settings and eras enabling the possibility to explore all aspects of realistic character design in projects covering all different kinds of themes and visual styles.
I am skilled in Maya, Zbrush and currently expanding my repertoire by learning Substance Painter, Substance Designer and Marmoset Toolbag. I consider myself very flexible technically, being able to transfer relevant skills from one software to another, and adaptive functionally, to alternative workflows and any team-specific requirements.
Years of working in retail whilst doing my degree taught me effective communication, teamwork, quick responses to any sudden changes and valuable management skills.
During university studies, I have learned how to organise my time while working on several projects at the same time and finish them all within a set deadline.
I feel that my skill set and personality would fit into your creative team and I would welcome an opportunity to meet you to discuss further how my artistry and expertise could contribute to your new projects.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Karolina Sedilekova
